Globally, over 4.2.billion people lack access to safe sanitation. Poor
sanitation contributes to disease and groundwater contamination.
“Climate Change and Toilets, what strange bedfellows” you might be
thinking. And yet sanitary systems that are able to mitigate and adapt
to the changing demands made by climate change do exist.
Sustainable sanitation systems can reuse waste to safely boost
agriculture, and others can reduce and capture emissions for greener
energy.
Hi, I’m Karen Gartner from Sani Loo by Dusty Footprint Journeys. We
work in the remote rural Maji Moto Community in South Narok,
Maasailand Kenya with our partner, Kikurukurr Primary School in
Kikurukurr Village. During our 90 day Challenge we held two demo days
and we plan to build three toilets by EOQ (end of quarter) 2022. From there, our goal is to
help two more villages build toilets in 2022.
